Oct 06, 2008 - IGG Software has hired long-time Macintosh developer James Gillespie as Chief Architect, overseeing development of all applications at the firm. The position is new. Currently, IGG publishes applications solely for the Mac OS, including iBank 3, a leading alternative to Quicken, and iBiz 3, a time-tracking and invoicing program. All exisiting products will fall under Gillespie's direction, as will several new projects still in development.

Oct 06, 2008 - mamooba and Apokalypse Software Corp. have jointly announced that Apokalypse has acquired "TrackTime", mamooba's in-depth activity tracker for users that wish to have a sophisticated accounting of their computer - or project-based activities. Apokalypse Software reports that it will have the database of TrackTime's registered users as part of its system within a day or two to provide current users with updated licenses that reflect the acquisition.

Oct 04, 2008 - The Digital Lifestyle, an online video network of Apple-related videos and shows, is announcing it is going green for all video production. The website and video production elements have changed, or will be changing, shortly to minimize environmental impact. All lighting for studio shoots will be lit by fluorescent lights, and studio power will be purchased through a wind power exchange plan.

Sep 13, 2008 - Welcome to Macintosh has been selected to present at the 2008 Naperville Independent Film Festival in Naperville, Illinois. The festival runs from September 24th through the 27th, with Welcome to Macintosh screening Thursday September 25th at 12:15pm. This comes on the heels of a September 5th screening in Berlin for the Globians Documentary Film Festival.
