MEI Helps Howard Hughes Medical Institute Revamp iPad App

May 01, 2012 - Managing Editor Inc. today announced that the Howard Hughes Medical Institute is now using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to produce the iPad edition of its quarterly magazine, the HHMI Bulletin. HHMI hired MEI's design and production team to help create upcoming tablet issues of the magazine as well as to rebuild existing iPad issues using Adobe DPS. MEI also enhanced the folios with new features, including social-media linking and sharing.

MEI Congratulates Mexico City’s Excelsior on News Design Award

Mar 25, 2012 - Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) congratulates Mexico City's Excelsior for being named one of the World's Best Designed Newspapers by the Society for News Design. An MEI customer since 2006, Excelsior uses the vjoon K4(TM) Cross-Media Publishing Platform and MEI's Page Director Ad Layout System (ALS) in its daily production workflow. The World's Best, part of SND's 33rd annual Best of News Design competition, were announced in February. Excelsior was placed at the top of the category's 230 entries.


Funny Or Die Expands its Comedy Empire with Technical Help from MEI

"The Occasional," available now by single issue or subscription on the iTunes Newsstand, expands the Funny Or Die brand with magazine-style original content, multimedia, games and other interactive components. The app was built using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, the preeminent solution for Adobe InDesign-based tablet publishing.


MEI's VP of Technical Services to Present at XTech 2012

Mar 10, 2012 - MEI has announced Software expert Stephen Arbour will showcase techniques for automating and accelerating cross-media publishing with XML at XTech 2012 on Friday, March 16. The educational seminar, hosted by IDEAlliance, will be held at the Embassy Suites O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill., and can also be attended virtually via real-time webcast. Arbour will be speaking at 9:30 a.m. Central Time on Friday, March 16. He has 15 years experience in software product leadership and development.


MEI Hires Senior Account Director for Western U.S.

Feb 25, 2012 - MEI has announced the appointment of Dave Gillespie as senior account director. Gillespie will focus on winning new markets in the western United States and Canada. Gillespie previously was a senior corporate account manager for Adobe Systems, where he oversaw Fortune 500 accounts in the media and entertainment market. As an accomplished graphic designer and a multiple winner of Adobe's #1 Account Manager award, he brings both a production and business perspective to his client engagements.
