When installed on computers running Mac OS X, HellRTS opens a backdoor that allows remote users to take control of infected Macs and perform actions on them. Intego identifies this backdoor as OSX/HellRTS.D, a variant of an early Mac OS X malware first spotted in 2004.
Intego today released their important November 11, 2009 Security Memo. Intego has identified this as iPhone/Privacy.A, allowing hackers to connect to any jailbroken iPhone whose owners have not changed the root password. Hackers using this tool will install it on a computer, then let it work. It scans the network accessible to it, and when it finds a jailbroken iPhone, breaks into it, then steals data and records it.
