It has been written for Mac OS X, supporting many Mac-only technologies such as Core Animation, Core Image and ImageKit. With the latest update, Macnification is now fully 64-bit. In addition, it is one of the first scientific applications to leverage Grand Central Dispatch to efficiently use all available processor cores.
