Apr 09, 2011 - The SecureMac team has announced a new version of the BlackHole RAT 2.0 Trojan Horse for Mac OS X has been discovered. The new version of the trojan horse adds itself as a login item disguised as Java, has a more believable prompt for username and password. It slows down the computer by tying up the CPU with a loop function, executes shell commands, and can attempt to erase the hard drive. This new version should be not confused with an older variant from back in February.

New variant of Boonana Trojan Horse in the Wild
Nov 04, 2010 - The SecureMac team today announced a new variant of the Boonana malware has been discovered. The new variant, trojan.osx.boonana.b, behaves in a very similar manner to the original malware, and is currently being distributed on multiple sites. SecureMac has identified two more websites that are currently hosting the new malware variant. Rather than the initial site which tricks users into running (and installing) the malware, these servers seem to be hosting update code for the malware.
